When non-Muslims, particularly Westerners, hear the news of Islamis burning/vandalizing music stores in Pakistan, they get struck with disbelief. How could this be possibly true a religion prohibit music? Here's what Islam truly says about music...

Is music forbidden in Islam? This article will consider this question.
It is often said that music is prohibited in Islam. Upon hearing this statement most people doubt that such an absurd claim could possibly be true.
If the religion of Islam actually does forbid music, even the majority of devout Muslims would probably find this to be very strange and a cause for concern. Why in the world would a religion prohibit Music? Do any other minor or major religions prohibit music? What did Muhammad have to say about this matter? This article will also consider the many benefits of music.
Let’s examine what the Islamic texts and traditions have to say about this subject. The first two hadiths that we will consid have been selected from Sahih Bukhari, what, Muslims believe, to be canonical text of Islam. Muslims believe them to be authentic utterances of the Islamic prophet and should therefore be obeyed.
Hadith: Sahih Bukhari: Volume 7, Book 69, Number 494v:
Narrated Abu ‘Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash’ari:
that he heard the Prophet saying, “From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, ‘Return to us tomorrow.’ Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection.”
Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas’ud:Salam ibn Miskin, quoting an old man who witnessed AbuWa’il in a wedding feast, said: They began to play, amuse andsing. He united the support of his hand round his knees that were drawn up, and said: I heard Abdullah (ibn Mas’ud) say: I heard the apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) say: Singing produces hypocrisy in the heart.
Hadith Qudsi 19:5:
“The Prophet said that Allah commanded him to destroy all the musical instruments, idols, crosses and all the trappings of ignorance.”
Muhammad also said:
- “Allah Mighty and Majestic sent me as a guidance and mercy to believers and commanded me to do away with musical instruments, flutes, strings, crucifixes, and the affair of the pre-Islamic period of ignorance.”
- “On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will pour molten lead into the ears of whoever sits listening to a songstress.”
- “Song makes hypocrisy grow in the heart as water does herbage.”
- “This community will experience the swallowing up of some people by the earth, metamorphosis of some into animals, and being rained upon with stones.” Someone asked, “When will this be, O Messenger of Allah?” and he said, “Whensongstresses and musical instruments appear and wine is held to be lawful.”
- “There will be peoples of my Community who will hold fornication, silk, wine, and musical instruments to be lawful ….” — ‘Umdat al-Salik r40.0
What puritanical nonsense! If a person were to dig deep enough into the dung heap of Muhammad’s wacky utterances and bizarre behaviour nearly everything could be banned! (except of course warfare, and the all those nauseating and useless Islamic rituals that are part and parcel of the cult of Mohammedanism). The above passages are indeed bizarre and quite an insight into the strange world of Islam. Keep folks in the dark, and keep them afraid, frustrated and obedient, that was the tune that Muhammad sang. The more ignorant and primitive the Muslim, the better Muhammad could readily use them for his own ends — as foot soldiers to acquire “booty of all types.” Not only was Muhammad a mass murdering brazen thief and a slave trading pedophile, he was also some kind of strange puritanical nut-case opposed even to music! Why all the abnormal behaviour?! How sick was this guy?!
Muhammad preferred not to be asked difficult questions and often ended such inquiries abruptly. From the above hadiths and Islamic traditions we can see that Muhammad’s priority was to keep his followers focused solely on the details of his religion and then use them to kill and die for it when the time called for more booty. One of the reasons that Muslims are so obsessed with Islam and busy trying to promulgate it is because Muhammad has denied or restricted their abilty to enjoy so many of the healthy and common activities of life — such as music. This is plainly obvious when one studies the reality of how Islam plays out in the real world. When Muhammad was forced to address some of the challenging questions posed to him by his followers, his answers, or verdicts, were often patently ridiculous. Even folks who call themselves Muslims must get a real chuckle out of the some of the absurdity contained within Muhammad’s Islam.
Tragically, the condemnation of music in Muhammad’s Islam has many profoundly negative consequences. Muhammad was truly disturbed and his prohibition of music is just more proof of this. Pastimes such as music and many other social customs that are known to be good for human health are not to be partaken of or enjoyed by Muslims. Many ex-Muslims, such as myself, leave Islam upon learning the truth about this man Muhammad and his incredulous religion. We see Muhammad not as an honest man telling the truth but a deranged warlord and criminal gang leader. The fact that he claimed to be the messenger of God, delivering the one and only perfect religion is just that, a claim. One only needs to look at how Muhammad lived his life and the error-ridden and inhumane documents that he left behind to understand that he was merely a very sick liar and a fraud. Any honest person can plainly see that the founder of Islam, Muhammad ibn Abdullah, was through and through crooked and crazy. A mad criminal who attempted to fool his followers with threats and promises.
In truth, to express one’s self openly and honestly is fundamental to the human experience. For centuries music has been a healthy outlet for such expression. In fact music has played a very beneficial role in human development and the civilizing of mankind. With every passing year scientists are discovering more evidence that music enhances intelligence and that it has many positive effects on human health. It is a fact that humanity in general has derived many benefits from music throughout the ages. Throughout history music has been a rich and profound cultural element to nearly all of man’s diverse cultures and billions of individuals can attest to the fact that great enjoyment and rewards can found in both the creating and listening to music. In reality, due to Muhammad’s illness(es), basically he really only cared about himself and fulfilling his selfish desires, so all of this was lost on the pathetic little fool. As we can plainly see, if one is to submit to Muhammad’s Islam they must also submit their common sense and much of their basic self-honesty.
In conclusion, Muhammad’s ludicrous attitude towards music is very revealing. More obvious nonsense contained within his erroneous theology. No doubt some Muslims and Islamic apologists would be quick to point out that other passages from the Islamic texts and traditions make music Halal. Due to the fact that Islam is full of contradictions and inaccuracies this is no surprise. This proves that Muhammad was not the perfect man and that his Islam is over-flowing with utter nonsense and lies. From the above texts we see that music is actually Haram in Islam. Nonsense such as this should awaken any Muslim of sound mind to the fact that Islam in totality is a ridiculous and harmful fraud, and that its creator was simply a clever con man and a very, very sick liar. Islam’s aversion to taboos regarding music are just more proof of this.
CARA ISLAM MEMPERLAKUKAN BURUH
May Day atau Hari Buruh Internasional yang diperingati setiap 1 Mei, menjadi hari bagi para buruh menyuarakan berbagai keluhannya. Keluhan tentang berbagai sistem yang diangggap merugikan rakyat. May Day sempat dilarang saat pemerintahan Orde Baru berkuasa, namun di era pemerintahan Presiden Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyono menjadi Hari Libur Nasional berdasarkan Keppres No. 24 Tahun 2013 yang dikeluarkan SBY.
Memperingati Hari Buruh Internasional ini, LDII ingin mengucapkan Selamat Hari Buruh. Semoga momentum ini bisa menjadi media evaluasi yang baik untuk negara dan bersama mensejahterakan rakyat. Selain itu, LDII juga mengajak para pengusaha dan pemimpin perusahaan untuk memperlakukan buruh sesuai ajaran Islam, di antaranya:
1. Memberikan Kebebasan Beribadah
Meskipun pemerintah telah mengeluarkan Pasal 29 ayat 2 UUD 45, Pasal 22 ayat 1 dan 2 UU No 39 Tahun 1999, Tentang Hak Azasi Manusia, dalam hal ini kebebasan beribadah, akan tetapi kenyataan dilapangan buruh masih menemukan berbagai rintangan. Larangan mengenakan hijab dan sholat adalah beberapa bentuk pelanggaran yang kerap dihadapi para buruh di tempat kerja.
Meskipun pemerintah telah mengeluarkan Pasal 29 ayat 2 UUD 45, Pasal 22 ayat 1 dan 2 UU No 39 Tahun 1999, Tentang Hak Azasi Manusia, dalam hal ini kebebasan beribadah, akan tetapi kenyataan dilapangan buruh masih menemukan berbagai rintangan. Larangan mengenakan hijab dan sholat adalah beberapa bentuk pelanggaran yang kerap dihadapi para buruh di tempat kerja.
Mulai dari dianggap mengurangi mobilitas kerja, memberikan gambaran fanatik, menjauhkan pelanggan dan berbagai alasan lainnya dijadikan perusahaan untuk melarang buruhnya mengenakan hijab. Padahal negara maju seperti Australia dan Inggris berani menempatkan wanita berhijab sebagai pelayan publik seperti teller, customer service, dan receptionist. Tidak jauh berbeda dengan para wanita, para buruh pria kerap mendapati masalah ibadah Sholat Jumat. Mulai dari dipotong gaji, dianggap membolos, hingga hal terburuk dikeluarkan dari perusahaan merupakan ancaman yang dihadapi para buruh pria di beberapa perusahaan.
Kisah muadzin pertama, Bilal bin Rabah pernah mengalami hal serupa. Pasca majikannya mengetahui dirinya memeluk Islam, siksaan berdatangan agar dia kembali menyembah berhala. Pukulan cambuk dan beratnya batu yang menindih badannya tidak sedikitpun mengoyahkan niatnya. Allah menunjukkan pertolongannya. Beruntung, lewat bantuan Abu Bakar, Bilal dimemerdekakan dan diajaknya memeluk Islam.
2. Membayar Buruh Sesuai dengan Kesepakatan
Pembayaran upah yang terlambat, tidak sesuai dengan kesepakatan upah minimum kota, serta lembur yang tidak dibayar, merupakan beberapa tuntutan buruh yang kerap kita saksikan di televisi. Hal ini bertentangan dengan ajaran Rasulullah yang memerintahkan untuk membayar pelayan atau pembatu sesuai dengan kesepakatan dan tepat waktu.
Pembayaran upah yang terlambat, tidak sesuai dengan kesepakatan upah minimum kota, serta lembur yang tidak dibayar, merupakan beberapa tuntutan buruh yang kerap kita saksikan di televisi. Hal ini bertentangan dengan ajaran Rasulullah yang memerintahkan untuk membayar pelayan atau pembatu sesuai dengan kesepakatan dan tepat waktu.
Dalam sebuah riwayat Bukhari, Rasulullah bersabda, “Allah SWT berfirman, Ada tiga kategori golongan yang Aku menentangnya (kelak) di hari kiamat: lelaki yang berinfak kemudian ditarik kembali, lelaki yang menjual orang merdeka lalu memakan uangnya, dan orang yang mempekerjakan pekerja dan telah mendapatkan hasilnya, tetapi tidak memberikan upah,”. Selain itu Nabi juga bersabda, “Berikanlah buruh itu upahnya, sebelum keringatnya kering,” HR Ibnu Majah. Tidak membayar buruh tepat waktu dan sesuai dengan kesepakatan, menurut Islam merupakan bentuk kedzaliman.
3. Tidak Menyiksa Buruh dan Berlaku Baik
Tidak hanya berupa siksaan fisik, Rasulullah juga tidak mengajarkan mencaci atau mengucapkan kata-kata kasar pada pembantu. Anas bin Malik pelayan Rasulullah pernah berkata, "Demi Allah, aku telah membantu Baginda selama 7 atau 9 tahun. Aku tidak pernah menjumpainya mengomentasi apapun yang aku lakukan, ‘Kenapa kamu melakukan ini dan itu?’ Atau mengomentari apa yang aku tinggalkan, ‘Mengapa kamu tidak melakukan ini dan itu?’'' HR Muslim.

Dalam Islam pembantu atau buruh diumpamakan sebagai saudara. sebagaimana sabda Rasulullah “Saudara kalian adalah budak kalian. Allah jadikan mereka di bawah kekuasaan kalian,” (HR. Bukhari). Nabi menyebut pembantu sebagaimana saudara majikan agar derajat mereka setara dengan saudara.
4. Tidak Memaksa Melakukan Pekerjaan Melebihi Kemampuannya
Rasulullah melarang memberikan beban tugas kepada pembantu melebihi kemampuannya. Majikan juga tidak boleh memaksa pembantunya untuk memikul beban kerja yang bisa merusak kesehatannya sehingga dia tidak bisa menunaikan kewajibannya. Jikapun terpaksa itu harus dilakukan, beliau perintahkan agar sang majikan turut membantunya. Beliau bersabda, “Janganlah kalian membebani mereka (budak), dan jika kalian memberikan tugas kepada mereka, bantulah mereka,” HR. Bukhari No. 30.

5. Memperhatikan dan Memenuhi Kebutuhan Buruh

Dituturkan oleh Rabi’ah bin Ka’ab al-Aslami, “Aku pernah membantu Nabi SAW. Baginda bersabda kepadaku, ‘Wahai Rabi’ah, apakah kamu tidak ingin menikah?’ Aku menjawab, ‘Tidak, wahai Rasulullah. Saya tidak ingin menikah. Saya tidak mempunyai sesuatu untuk bisa menghidupi istri. Saya juga tidak ingin menyibukkan diri hingga melupakan Tuan.’ Baginda SAW bersabda, ‘Tinggalkanlah saya.’ Setelah itu, Baginda SAW pun mengulanginya lagi.’ Aku pun menjawabnya dengan jawaban yang sama. Hingga Baginda mananyakannya yang ketiga, aku pun menjawabnya, ‘Tentu, ya Rasulullah. Perintahkanlah apa yang Tuan kehendaki, atau Tuan inginkan.’ Baginda pun bersabda, ‘Berangkatlah ke keluarga si Fulan di sebuah perkampungan kaum Anshar,” HR Ahmad dan Al Hakim. (Bahrun/Lines)

ORLANDO, Fla. (May 8, 2013) – Building on the global phenomenon that is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal Orlando Resort and Warner Bros. Entertainment today announced an expansion of historic proportion with the entirely new themed environment, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley.
Scheduled to open in 2014, the world’s first centrally themed, multi-park experience expands The Wizarding World of Harry Potter across both Universal Orlando theme parks and allows Universal’s creative team to bring an unparalleled vision to this unique project. The new area will bring to life some of the experiences and places found in and around London in the Harry Potter books and films, offering brand-new adventures for fans and theme park guests from around the world.
Diagon Alley and ‘London’ will be located within the Universal Studios Florida theme park, which is adjacent to Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park, where guests now experience Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. The new area within Universal Studios will be just as expansive, immersive and authentic as the existing themed environment.
And – just like in the books and films – guests will be able to travel between ‘London’ and Hogsmeade aboard the Hogwarts Express.
Work on the new area is already underway. When complete, it will feature shops, a restaurant and an innovative, marquee attraction based on Gringotts bank – all directly inspired by the fiction and films.
More details on The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley will be released over time.
To bring Diagon Alley and ‘London’ to life, Universal’s creative team is working closely with Warner Bros. and the production design team from the Harry Potter films – just as it did for Hogwarts and Hogsmeade.
“I’m so pleased that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has proved so popular to date, and I’m sure that the attention to detail in creating the new Diagon Alley area will make this an even better experience,” said J.K. Rowling.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade opened at Universal’s Islands of Adventure in June 2010 as a fully immersive Harry Potter themed environment – bringing to life the bestselling books by J.K. Rowling and the blockbuster feature films from Warner Bros. Since that time, it has become a global phenomenon, entertaining millions of people from around the world.
Visitors to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter are swept into the adventures of Harry Potter. They can tour Hogwarts castle, shop in Hogsmeade and dine at the Three Broomsticks. They can soar above Hogwarts with Harry, be chosen by a wand at Ollivanders, sample Butterbeer and much more.
